Join new Chamber President, Janet Weber, and other Chamber representatives at the all new quarterly coffees around town beginning on Wednesday, July 2, at Sehnert’s Bakery & Bieroc Café. The coffee will be from 7:30 - 9:00 a.m. We’ll buy your coffee so come on down and get up-to-date on Chamber doings and what’s new around town. This will be another great opportunity to network, meet new people and stay abreast of the latest. Make a connection....at the Chamber Connections Coffee....See you there!

In With the New....

July 1 begins a new fiscal year for the Chamber. It is also the time when we bring on new board members and say good bye to those who have served their terms. We wish to express our sincere appreciation to the service and dedication we have enjoyed from our two outgoing directors, Richard Stull (McDonald’s) and Chris Wagner (Wagner’s Auto Dealerships). The support and guidance from these two individuals have set the bar high for future directors. They have each made outstanding contributions to moving the Chamber forward over the past several years. Even as they leave their terms on the Board, we know we can turn to them in the future as they will continue to be very active Chamber members. Thanks!

We are pleased to announce that Wil Midkiff, Parker Hannifin, and Jason Schmick, Schmick’s Market, will be joining the Chamber Board of Directors as one-year appointees effective July 1. Both have been very supportive Chamber members and now will help set the future direction of the Chamber. In addition, they bring with them a different perspective of the business world and will contribute greatly to our vision. Wil and Jason would love to hear from you with regard to your ideas, concerns, issues or observations so give them a call.

Bring the kids to all of the fun activities planned during Crazy Days! If you plan to shop til you drop, you can take a little break to let them participate in the Minnow Races, the Turtle Races (BYOT-bring your own turtle) or dunk the Starz Dance Team in the Dunk Tank. Check out the fun at Norris and C Streets at 10:30 a.m. and the Dunk Tank from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Every hour on the hour we will be featuring celebrities from around town (you know...those people you really want to see dunked!) See them in their costumes on Thursday morning beginning at 7:00 a.m. The Sno Place will also be on location with icy treats to help you keep your cool each and every day! On Saturday, rack up even more savings by shopping in your pajamas. The merchants are hosting a pajama party! They have gone CRAAAZY! It’ll be great fun!

Free Concert in Norris Park

It has been our pleasure to assist the Nebraska National Guard 43rd Army Band with their 2008 Concert Tour stop in McCook on Monday, July 7, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to Norris Park and be prepared for an outstanding performance by this 60-member band. There is no cost for the concert but you may want to bring a couple of bucks and treat yourself to one of the Chamber’s infamous root beer floats. We’ll be there serving up the frosty treats so you should plan to be there too! It’ll be a great evening!
